OpenWiFi – The Next Wi-Fi Revolution 2021

October 28, 2021 @ 9:00 am 11:00 am PDT

Wi-Fi seems to be the perfect broadband connectivity option. The spectrum is always free to use and constantly expanding. The standards have always been advancing rapidly, and interoperation between the billions of Wi-Fi devices is excellent. Yet, something fundamental is missing that hinders even wider adoption. Why? Because each Wi-Fi device is an isolated silo, where the chipset, hardware, firmware, and cloud are all proprietary and cannot be separated.

About this event:

The Wireless Communication Alliance welcomes you to listen in as a selected panel of experts from Facebook, Boingo, NetExperience and Atlancis Technologies explore how the development and deployment of OpenWiFi is shaping up, as well as exciting updates since the official launch of the OpenWiFi event. We will show the evolution of OpenWiFi as well as upcoming next generation Wi-Fi hardware including Wi-Fi 6E tri-band indoor and outdoor units. We will raffle five units of CIG WF-188N AP running NetExperience Cloud. Must be present at the raffle, and we will send the Access Points directly to the winners.

Agenda:

1. Intro to OpenWiFi
2. Use case
3. Operator showcase
4. Latest updates
